Final post I can't come to this forum anymore!
by hoser ini have come to the conclusion that posting here and visiting this site is not healthy for me anymore.
i just get angry and upset when i read all the stories of injustice and corruption that go on in the jehovahs witness religion.
they are true no doubt, as i have personally experienced many injustices and abuses in my life from being a witness.

ANOTHER poke in the eye of the balloon-god YodHeVahHe
by Nathan Natas inhttp://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/next/evolution/first-metabolic-processes-detected-outside-of-cells/.
precis: a graduate student at the university of cambridge accidentally discovered the first evidence of metabolism occurring outside a cell.
to test the processes that could have helped spark life on earth, students in the earth sciences department who had been working on reconstructing the chemistry of the archean ocean, which covered the planet almost 4 billion years ago helped develop some experiments.

Most Damning Publication?
by Wild_Thing inof all of the watchtower's many publications dating now to all the way back to russell, which one publication is the most damning in showing they are a complete crachpot of a religion?
and i course, i mean which original publication before they changed a few words and reprinted!.
personally, i think it is probably russell's the divine plan of the ages.

Grieving in JW Land
by cultBgone inwhile experiencing a seemingly annual time of grief over the deaths of my sister and mom, a few other posters mentioned they experienced similar episodes linked to family deaths.
i've known some in my jw family who have this shared experience as well.. i know that grief as an emotion must be dealt with, that is, allowed to happen and be experienced, or we end up stuffing the emotions inside ourselves.
and any emotions we've stuffed and hidden will always try to get out in the body's normal course of healing itself.

Though what you say is true for many JW's obviously its not true for all. The feelings you are having of missing the dead are not unique to JW's who repress grief. I think many of us do not grieve because we cannot bear the finality of death. It took over a year before I broke down and wept for my mom's passing. Not because of JW thinking, but because it took that long for me to step back from surviving and coping and taking care of family left hanging by the loss. It finally made its way to the fore. It was so healthy to do that. In the car the song Photograph by Ringo came on and I litearlly did a primal karaoke version on the highway tears streaming down my cheeks. (All I have is a photograph and I realize you're not coming back any more.)
We remember mom all the time but its true, that day in january is marked in our minds for its horror and finality. Love you mom and I celebrate your loving and bitchy nature!
Remember the good Cultbgone. I feel ya!
JW depression comes from knowing there is no way out of the pressure of being a Witnoid, study, meetings, service, selling magazines, boring assemblies and conventions, peer pressure from people who dont even have an internal pressure to do these things. The insincerity is overwhelming. And everyone judges you by your highlighter activity!

Do you think JWs are dangerous, if yes why? If not, why?
by suavojr inpersonally the jws to me are not dangerous.
on the other hand, many do think they are in fact a dangerous cult.
why are they dangerous?.

The WT Organization is like a madhouse that is full of mental and physical abuse of its inmates. The danger is to those held captive, not so much those not associated with it. Dangerous cult? To those held in its tentacles yes. Run away!

What proof do we have that Moses was a real person???
by jam ini personally believe moses was largely or entirely mythical.
is because much of his biography, if not most of it, is tied to events.
that never happened, meaning that a historical moses could not .

Without the WT to vent their righteous indignation, what would this couple do? Kinda seems out of balance.
I agree that a sex offender should be convicted if guilty and known publicly, but there has to be balance. Though pedophiles do not deserve blanket mercy they do not deserve universal condemnation either. Many are wrongly accused, many are in that box because of mistakes in their youth, ie: sex at 18 with someone who lied about thier age and were only 17.8. Now teens who Sext are getting busted and made sex offenders. The easiest notch on a prosecutor's belt is the conviction of someone accused of such acts and they waste no time making sure it happens regardless of the facts. I have seen this having family in law enforcement.
And seldom, if ever, do pedophiles ever molest children in a facility near where they live. Hate to say it but there is a greater threat from the close family member or associate who is not exposed as a sex offender yet than many convicted creeps; ie: "The Brother who likes the kids". Please list for me how many people have been molested by a sex offender/witness who came to their door? I am not on their side, dont misunderstand, just get educated. Hate campaigns only lead to vigilantism and that means blood.
They are going to take down the WT? Ok, good luck. Freaks like the JW have been around forever. It exists in minds, not buildings. But good luck. Their hatred is as strong as their former devotion and that can consume years of a person's life. Resentment is like taking poison and waiting for the other person to die.
Crusades are only good for the middle ages. Even so, there is nothing like a good grudge.

First Post - Emotionally Torn
by scaredtospeak ini haven't been on here long but i found this site a couple days ago and quickly realised it had a lot of posts by people going through similar experiences as me.
i read some of the answers and it helped relieve some inner anguish i've been carrying since everything i came clean to my parents about everything i've been reading about.. .
i just have been going through a rough patch right now; that might be an under or overstatement depending on your own personal experiences with this kind of stuff.

Some people are taught from childhood that Santa is real. Would you respect anyone who allowed themselves to be emotionally blackmailed to hang on to that fantasy? Well, there ya go. No mo Jeho. You are obviously not baptized, thats a mercy. So you are making your choice. They don't sound as if they will disown you. Just love them and be honest, how can they respect you if you aren't? My family wasn't happy when I showed them that the flood story was impossible, but they are over it. Good luck.
